Department for Public Health to Hold Radon Education and Awareness Presentation in Martha
FRANKFORT, Ky. (Nov. 23, 2005) – The Division of Public Health Protection and Safety in the Kentucky Department for Public Health is offering a radon education and awareness presentation 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1 at the Keaton Christian Church in Martha in Lawrence County.
The presentation, which grew out of a recent community meeting to discuss reclamation efforts at the Martha oil field, will last approximately one hour. Free Radon Test Kits will be available.
Radon is an odorless, colorless, tasteless gas that is naturally occurring in the ground and can get into homes. It can cause health problems so it is important to know if Radon is present in the home. For more information, call the Division of Public Health Protection and Safety at (502) 564- 7398.
