How Do I Get Started?

If you are reading this, you have started! It is that easy to begin your adoption quest.

Just call any of the SNAP staff at 1-800-928-4303 or 1-800-432-9346. Staff at these numbers can give the name and phone contact information of the specific R and C worker assigned to your county.  R&C workers can give you the times and dates of the information and preparation meetings.

For general information on adoption in Kentucky, just contact one of the SNAP specialists, and they will be happy to help you. SNAP specialists can also give you information about a specific child or sibling group and will know if the child or sibling group is still available.

SNAP specialists can be contacted by phone at one of the aforementioned 800 numbers or by the e-mail address that is listed at the bottom of the child's photo listing. Because of the large number of children in the program, SNAP staff do not know more information than what is on the Web site. Besides the two toll-free numbers, each specialist has voice mail, so call at your convenience and leave a daytime number and the best time during business hours to call you back.

While drop-in visits are always welcomed, it is advised to call first to ensure the staff person you want to talk will be available. Our goal, and the goal of each R and C worker, is to be as available as possible.
