Testing for chlamydia and gonorrhoeae using Nucleic Acid Amplified Testing

Acceptable specimens using the Genprobe Aptima collection kits are:
- Male urethral and female endocervical
- Male and female urine
Other specimen types are not approved for our testing methods.
When shipping specimens to our facility, please include two unique identifiers on specimen and request form.
Bacteriology Fingerprinting
Pulsed Field Gel Electrophoresis (PFGE) is an application applied to E. coli, Salmonella, Shigella, and Listeria for food outbreak detection and surveillance. This surveillance is done in cooperation with the KY Division of Epidemiology and Health Planning and with the Centers for Disease Control.
