Kentucky Council on Developmental Disabilities

2009 KCDD members

The mission of the Kentucky Council on Developmental Disabilities is to create change through visionary leadership and advocacy so that people have choices and control over their own lives.

KCDD does not provide direct care services

Attention:

As of March 15, 2010, the Consumer Involvement Fund only may be used by individuals with developmental disabilities and other in their support network. The council will consider in-state travel requests up to twice a year or one out-of-state trip per fiscal year (July to July), not to exceed $350 per qualifying individual for in-state events or $1,500 per qualifying individual for out-of-state events. This policy will be strictly enforced. Please see the application posted on the left side of this page.

Attention

The Kentucky Council on Developmental Disabilities, a statewide organization, wishes to notify the public that they have not sued the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.  The local, Louisville based organization called the Council on Developmental Disabilities is actually the agency that has recently sued the Cabinet regarding inquires into the death of an individual while in the SCL program.  For more information, please contact:

KY Exceptional Family Magazine

KCDD and Lexington Family Magazine have collaborated to bring you a Kentucky guideline for people with disabilities, their families and the professionals that support them. We are proud to announce the first edition of this great resourceful publication.

Parking Placards

KCDD has created free public awareness placards for those who violate handicap parking laws. You may order these free of charge by contacting our office or by sending an e-mail to Shelley Runkle.  

 

KDDNetwork News

True Systems Change
 

The council provided funds for this project. The 30-minute training video will show you an example of true systems change at  a local level. Glenna and Kevin have been good advocates for the council and deserve our thanks for spreading the word about the wonderful things the council has helped accomplish through collaboration.
