A public hearing on the proposed State Plan for the Department for Aging and Independent Living for federal fiscal years 2009-12 is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, June 19, in room 113 of the Capitol Annex.

Prioritization of services under the State Plan will be given to minorities who have low-income, older individuals living in rural areas, individuals with disabilities, caregivers and people suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease or related disorders. Comments concerning the plan are actively sought from these groups. Individuals wishing to address any aspect of the plan are invited to do so.

A copy of the plan is available for review at each Area Development District office. A copy may be obtained, also, from the state Department for Aging and Independent living, 275 E. Main St. 3W-F, Frankfort, KY 40621.
