Rob Edwards Named Cabinet for Health and Family Services Chief of Staff
Robert L. Edwards, chief financial officer and legislative director for the Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS), has been appointed chief of staff for CHFS, effective Sept. 1, Secretary Mark D. Birdwhistell announced today.
Edwards succeeds Shawn Crouch, who has been named commissioner of the Department for Medicaid Services.
Governor Ernie Fletcher appointed Edwards as the executive officer for administrative and fiscal affairs in March 2004.
“I am confident that Rob’s leadership and management skills, as well as his knowledge of all of the Cabinet’s many agencies and services, will serve him well in the role of chief of staff,” said CHFS Secretary Mark D. Birdwhistell. “I have had the opportunity to work with Rob for the past three years and have been consistently impressed with his enthusiasm, dedication and loyalty.”
A native of Anchorage, Ky., Edwards is a graduate of Centre College and received a master of business administration degree from the University of Louisville.
