Personal Care Home Webcast

This seminar is designed to enhance the participant's knowledge of the Personal Care Home (PCH) process and to increase understanding of regulations.


Upon completion of the seminar, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the PCH process and how it is implemented.
  • Identify the PCH regulations.
Recommended Audience

The recommended audience for this seminar includes administrators, directors of nursing, activities specialist, dietary managers and consultants. 


Samantha Windsor, Assistant Director, Office of Inspector General, Division of Health Care. Samantha has a bachelor's degree specializing in gerontology from the University of Kentucky and is a licensed nursing home administrator. She has 12 years of experience working in the health care industry, four of which were spent operating nursing facilities. In the last nine years, she has served the citizens of the Commonwealth of Kentucky primarily in the Office of Inspector General. She has held the position of social service specialist surveyor regulating long-term care facilities and administrative branch manager overseeing the operation of the Training and Quality Assurance Branch. She now serves the Commonwealth of Kentucky as an assistant director and state training coordinator of the Division of Health Care.

Jerry Mayo, Human Services Surveyor Supervisor, Northern Enforcement Branch, Office of Inspector General. Jerry has more than 30 years of service with the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the last 13 with the Office of Inspector General. He previously held the position of human services surveyor, responsible for regulating both child care and health care facilities. He has worked extensively with family care and personal care homes during his career. During his tenure with OIG he has provided consultation and training to providers and partners. He is responsible for the coordination and triage of all health care-related complaints.

Continuing Education Units - KBN#7-0061

The Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN) has approved 5.5 contact hours for RNs and LPNs. Participants must stay for the entire course in order to receive CEUs.

TRAIN Quick Reference Steps
(for those who have previously used TRAIN)

  1. Go to the TRAIN system
  2. Log In
  3. Enter the first Course ID - 1021086
  4. Click Registration Tab
  5. Click link to Session 1
  6. Select Contact Hours as the Credit Type
  7. Click Launch button
  8. Download presentation (PDF file)
  9. View session
  10. When complete, click X in top right hand corner to exit PolyCom session
  11. Go to Home and click My Learning
  12. Click M next to completed session
  13. Click Completed button
  14. Click Start Evaluation button and complete evaluation
  15. Click link to next session to register
  16. Repeat steps 5 - 14 until all sessions are complete logging into next appropriate session
  17. Go Home
  18. Click My Learning Record and click Certificate Links
  19. Find your course and print your certificate of participation
