TB Screening in Health Facilities

While a Blood Assay for Mycobacterium tuberculosis (BAMT) currently is not listed as a TB screening option in OIG licensure regulations, effective Feb. 19, 2013, the OIG will not cite a facility for a deficiency if the facility elects to use BAMTs in lieu of skin tests for TB screening. New State Regulation Requires Personal Services Agencies to Obtain Certification

A new state regulation has taken effect, requiring personal services agencies to obtain certification from the Office of Inspector General. Personal services agencies currently operating in Kentucky must apply for certification by Dec. 31.

Bedford Laboratories™ issues nationwide voluntary hospital/user-level recall of Leucovorin calcium injection

This voluntary recall is being conducted due to the discovery of visible crystalline particulate matter in a small number of vials within the lots listed above. The particulate matter has been identified as active drug substance and not foreign material or contamination.
