Office of Policy and Budget

The Office of Policy and Budget (OPB) provides central review and oversight of budget, contracts, legislation, grant management, boards and commissions and administrative regulations. The office coordinates, assists and supports program departments and provides independent review and analysis on behalf of the secretary.

OPB consists of four distinct, but interrelated, groups: Budget, Contract Oversight, Grants Managment and Policy and Regulation.

The Budget group provides finanacial analysis to Cabinet leadership and works with the Cabinet's various financial managment groups.

The Contract Oversight group provides consultation and support to agencies and works to ensure all CHFS contracts meet Cabinet and other government standards.

The Grants Management group advises cabinet leadership and agency fiscal units in matters relating to grants, maintains a library of current and past grants and works with agencies in the formulation of grant requests.

The Policy and Regulation group coordinates Cabinet activities related to processing administrative regulations and provides advice to CHFS agencies wishing to submit a regulation.
