Pulsed Field Gel Electrophoresis is an application applied to E. coli, salmonella, shigella and listeria for food outbreak detection and surveillance. This surveillance is done in cooperation with the Kentucky Division of Epidemiology and Health Planning and with the Centers for Disease Control.
