Per federal rules, DMS has created a new Beneficiary Advisory Council (BAC) for current and former Medicaid members and their family or caregivers. Additionally, DMS has changed the Advisory Council for Medical Assistance to the Medicaid Advisory Committee (MAC). The goal of these changes is to expand membership and to ensure more people with lived Medicaid experience have a voice in the program. Information about the new MAC and BAC is available on the MAC webpage.
Payment Error Rate Measurement RY 2026
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) kicked off the Payment Error Rate Measurement (PERM) RY 2026. The PERM program measures and reports improper payment rates in Medicaid and CHIP for each state every three years. This is not a "fraud rate" but rather a measurement of payments made that did not meet statutory, regulatory, or administrative requirements. Additional information about the PERM program is available on the DMS Provider Information page.
