​​​​​​​​​​Kentucky Medicaid provides benefits to thousands of children. While most of these children will be covered through a managed care organization (MCO), there are benefits available to meet a variety of circumstances. 

Programs and Services

• Kentucky Children's Health Insurance Program (KCHIP) 
  A healthcare program for children younger than 19 who do not have health insurance
  
• Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse 
  Options for behavioral health and substance abuse needs
  
• Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic a​nd Treatment (EPSDT) Screenings ​
  A preventive child health program for some Medicaid or KCHIP-enrolled individuals younger than 21
• EPSDT Special Services​
  Medically necessary items or treatment services not otherwise covered by Medicaid for some Medicaid or KCHIP-enrolled individuals younger than 21
• Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program 
  A program provided through the Department for Public Health for children's vaccines
  
• Kentucky Early Intervention System (KEIS)
  Provides early intervention for families with children birth to age three who have or are at risk for developmental delays
  
• Women, Infants, and Children Program (W​IC) 
  Program administered by the KY Department of Public Health that provides nutritional supplements to low-income pregnant or breast-feeding women and infants and children younger than five
  
• Health Access Nurturing Development Services (HANDS)​ 
  A home visiting program for pregnant women and new parents that supports all areas of the baby's development
