The Department for Family Resource Centers and Volunteer Services consists of the following: Division of Family Resource and Youth Services Centers (FRYSC) and Kentucky Commission on Community Volunteerism and Service (Serve Kentucky).
The FRYSC division provides administrative support, technical assistance and training to local school-based family resource and youth services centers. These centers help connect students and their families to needed services as a way to remove nonacademic barriers to learning and enhance student academic success.
The mission of Serve Kentucky, formerly known as the Kentucky Commission on Community Volunteerism and Service, is to engage Kentuckians in volunteerism and service to positively impact our communities. Serve Kentucky administers Kentucky's AmeriCorps and related national service programs.
