Private child caring (PCC) and private child placing (PCP) agreements direct the services these agencies provide to children and families served by the child welfare system. The agreements are updated yearly and assure services are family centered, youth guided, time limited, intensive, evidence informed practices that promote Kentucky’s goals of safety, permanency, well-being and stability for children and families served by the child welfare system.

KAR 922 Chapter 1​ ​sets the requirements for signed agreements between PCC/PCP agencies and the Department for Community Based Services. Each signed agreement is effective from July 1 to June 30 of each year.
