Kentucky health officials are investigating causes of cyclospora cases in Kentucky related to a multistate outbreak. Cyclosporiasis, a sickness caused by a tiny parasite called Cyclospora. People can get sick by eating contaminated food or drinking contaminated water. Similar outbreaks have also been reported recently in Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana.

Measles cases continue to rise across the U.S. with outbreaks reported in most states in 2026. The last confirmed measles case in a Kentucky resident was in Christian County in August 2026.

There are no confirmed cases of Ebola in the United States or Kentucky at this time. However, health officials are watching closely after a large outbreak of the Bundibugyo virus, a type of Ebola, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Uganda. They have increased safety measures and are monitoring for any possible cases.
