Boarding Home Program

The Boarding Home Law (KRS 216B.300 - 216B.320 and 216B.990) and the Boarding Home Administrative Regulation (902 KAR 20:350) require registration of any home, facility, institution, lodging or other establishment that accomodates three or more adults not related to the owner, operator or manager by blood or marriage and offers or advertises room and board on a 24-hour basis for hire or compensation.

Registration

The annual registration fee for a boarding home is $100. To apply to operate a boarding home, contact the Public Safety Branch at (502) 564-4537.
