Kentucky Medicaid is a​ state and federal program offering health coverage for low-income individuals, children, families, pregnant women, the aged, and people with disabilities. Our goal is to improve health outcomes across the state through access to quality health care to eligible Kentuckians.

Learn to Bill Medicaid Transportation Services

Gainwell Technologies, in partnership with Kentucky Medicaid, is offering a webinar to help providers bill emergency and non-emergency transportation services. Read the transportation webinar invitation​ for additional information. ​

Rural Health Transformation

The Commonwealth of Kentucky will receive funding through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Rural Health Transformation Fund. Kentucky will use the $212.9 million award over five years to help address the unique health challenges in rural parts of the state. You can learn more about the plan on the state's Rural Health Transformation website.​

​Community Health for Improved Lives and Development (CHILD Waiver)

The Department for Medicaid Services (DMS) is implementing a new 1915(c) Home and Community Based Services waiver. The Community Health for Improved Lives and Development, or CHILD, waiver aims to keep individuals age 21 and younger with complex, multi-system needs safe, healthy, and as independent as possible within their communities and families. Additional information is available on the DMS Division of Long-Term Services and Supports website​. 

Anthem Managed Care Update

Anthem Kentucky Managed Care Plan, Inc. is no longer a Kentucky Medicaid managed care organization, effective Jan. 1, 2025. The Kentucky Medicaid Anthem MCO Transition webpage​ includes additional information for affected members.

Medicaid Open Records Request​

To request public records, please use the Team Kentucky Open Records CenterYou can submit questions about the open records process to DMS at DMS.Records@ky.gov​.
Open records are defined in Chapter 61 of the Kentucky Revised Statutes. If the records requested are in the custody of and maintained by another agency, a request must be submitted to that agency.​​
